Build your Migration Strategy: Camunda Migration Evaluation Workshop
1. Get familiar with Camunda 8
Camunda 8 enables diverse teams to orchestrate and automate any process. Rich collaboration and visual modeling tools help teams design complex process flows collaboratively and before writing a single line of code. These features allow you to apply business and IT expertise to develop the right solution for your project at speed.
In addition, Camunda 8’s workflow engine Zeebe is designed with a distributed architecture. This cloud-native design allows for high throughput, enabling process orchestration for workflows of any complexity at scale and with the speed, security and resiliency needed to futureproof your automation efforts. Choose between a fully managed SaaS Edition or host in your own cloud via the Self-Managed Edition. The SaaS Edition’s new Console enables administrators to easily manage users, permissions, clusters, and more! Console provides the increased governance and detailed audit trails for all organizations including those with strict regulatory compliance requirements.
To further improve the automation and orchestration of your processes, Camunda 8 includes reusable, built-in Connectors. These can simply be dragged and dropped into your BPMN process model to get started. If your processes involve legacy systems, homegrown applications, and specialty software tools, developers can use Camunda’s Integration Framework to build and deploy custom Connectors in minutes.

Self-Managed lets you host on your own hardware or cloud instance. This is a nice option for those who require systems to be run on their infrastructure for compliance reasons and have the required expertise to run cloud-native applications. This means that performance, security, uptime, redundancy, and resource allocation will need to be managed by your team.
